Baby Bump Costumes for Halloween

If you’re pregnant but still looking to take your other children trick-or-treating this year, there are many fun maternity costume ideas that can easily accommodate your growing baby bump. In fact, now is the time to take advantage of your belly for a totally unique costume that only works during pregnancy! We’ve laid out four of our favorite ideas below.

A Gumball Machine

The gumball machine is a classic idea that never gets old. Wear red pants or a red skirt to represent the base of the machine. Next, grab a white t-shirt and paint a variety of colored circles (gumballs) within the area that covers your baby bump. Add on a 25 cents price sign for a finishing touch.

Spaghetti Sauce

If you want to go with an easy, do-it-yourself option, a jar of spaghetti sauce will do the trick. All you need is a print-out of a spaghetti label (preferably Prego®, for the added laughs) and a red t-shirt. You could also paint the label directly onto the shirt. Add fake spaghetti and meatballs on top of your head to complete the look.

A Basketball

This is a common choice, but is always good because you can easily put your own spin on it. Whether you decide to wear a jersey and paint your belly as the basketball, or dress up as the hoop, there are a lot of different ways to go about it. If you have other children who are into basketball, they can also dress up as players for a fun, family-themed costume.

An Avocado

Another cute, easy way to incorporate food into your costume is to dress up as an avocado. You can either make the full avocado shape to wear around your body out of cardboard, or simply dress yourself in all green. The distinguishing factor? Painting your baby bump brown to represent the pit.
