A part of Athens’ extensive network of over 25 trails, Hockhocking Adena Bikeway is a fan favorite. The bikeway is shared by cyclists, walkers and runners and spans across 22 miles. Strouds Run State Park
Located a short drive outside the heart of Athens, Strouds Run State Park is a hidden gem. Enjoy miles of hiking trails, mountain biking and horseback riding, and finish your adventure at Dow Lake.
Hocking Hills State Park
If you’re willing to travel a bit outside of Athens, Hocking Hills is one of the top destinations in all of Ohio. Explore for just one day or book a rental for a weekend getaway. The park’s highlights include rock climbing, river trips, ATV trails and pontoon boat rentals.
Wayne National Forest
Visit Ohio’s only national forest, located in our very own southeastern Ohio. Known for its diverse trails, this gorgeous forest is also a place you can bike, horseback ride or ride off-highway vehicles (OHVs).

Ohio Pawpaw Festival
