Summertime brings the chance of pop-up storms and rainy days, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! For kids on summer break, a rainy day can still be fun – just add water!
We’re not talking indoor alternatives. We’re talking about getting outside and soaking up the showers. Warning: you will get wet. Just make sure there isn’t any lightning nearby!

Walk in the rain
Grab the umbrellas and head out for a walk.

Fill up the buckets
Place several buckets outside to see how much water you can collect. Then have your children carry them across the yard and pour them together.

Dance in the rain
Have a blast getting active and dancing around the yard with your children.

Jump in the puddles
You may want to get the rain boots out for this activity. Aim to jump over the puddles, but be prepared to get splashed, just in case!

Slip and Slide
Lay out the Slip and Slide–no hose needed. If you don’t have one, a simple tarp will work.

Go to the pool or Zoombezi Bay
The fun doesn’t have to stop for rain showers. And bonus – there’s usually less crowds!
Suggesting these activities will be sure to earn you some parent points. These fun outdoor rainy-day activities will not only make memories for you and your children, but also keep everyone active. Have fun and splash on!
