Chicken soup for a cold? Turns out it’s not just an old wives’ tale. Bone broth seems to be making a comeback, and with good reason. It touts some serious health benefits, and some even claim that it can give you an anti-aging beauty boost, too.

What bone broth can do for you

Many health trends are just that — trends. But bone broth is not new to the scene. Bone broth contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sulfur, glucosamine and more. Ancient healers from many different cultures used it for its curative attributes, and modern-day research has proven the benefits of the vitamins and minerals it contains.

Not all broths are created equal

When bone is soaked for an extended period of time, usually from 24 to 72 hours, vitamins and minerals are pulled from the bone and into a flavorful broth.
