Fall Group Fitness Classes to Try

Tired of solo runs before the sun comes up? Keep your fitness routine interesting with these group fitness classes

Fitness fanatics and beginners alike agree: Group classes are one of the best ways to maximize your results at the gym. Stop slowly pedaling the spin bike while checking up on Facebook, and sign up for one of these group fitness classes at the McConnell Heart Health Center or the Ontario Health and Fitness Center.

1. Cycle:45

45 minutes
Location: Ontario Health and Fitness Center
This 45-minute ride will challenge riders on flat roads and in the hills with speed work, strength work and drills. Appropriate for all fitness levels and abilities, these classes provide a great workout with a lot of variety.

2. Cycle & Sculpt

45 minutes
Location: McConnell Heart Health Center
Getting bored in the gym? This high-energy class for all levels keeps you moving This class combines the cardiovascular benefits of cycling with toning exercises using a band & bodyweight.

3. Total Body Blast

30 minute classes
Location: Ontario Health and Fitness Center
Build muscle and tone up from head to toe!
Glutes: An intense 30 minute strength workout focusing on the lower body.
Guts: build core strength with this targeted attack on the abdomen.
Guns: tone and sculpt the upper body in 30 minutes flat.
There are five-minute breaks between each class, participants are welcome to stay for one or all three segments.

4. Power Hour

60 minutes
Location: McConnell Heart Health Center
Power Hour is the total package. You will be sweating in no time when led through this 20/20/20 format. The first 20 minutes will be a warm-up/Kickboxing, the second 20 minutes will be interval training and the last 20 minutes will be dumbbell and core strength.

5. Strengthen & Stretch

30 minutes
Location: Ontario Fitness Center
This class incorporates low impact aerobics for warm up and cool down along with 20-minutes of strengthening and 15- minutes of stretching. This senior-friendly class is open to all ages and abilities and can help improve muscle tone, flexibility, and range of movement.

6. Aqua Cardio

40 minutes
Location: McConnell Heart Health Center
Cardio in water provides a new way to train. This class uses various formats of interval training, water boxing, toning and more. This could also assist injured athletes recover without losing their fitness.
