Is it safe to get multiple vaccines at one time?

Do you get the flu vaccine or the COVID vaccine? Why not both? In this Fast Fact, Joe Gastaldo, MD, System Medical Director of Infectious Diseases at OhioHealth, discusses getting simultaneous vaccines this flu season. The COVID-19 vaccines have been available since December of 2020. When they first became available, the recommendation was not to receive any other vaccine within a 14 day period. Based on new data, we now know the COVID-19 vaccine can be given safely with other vaccines at the same time. The former guidance has changed. So for those of you who have not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19, it is safe to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and a flu vaccine at the same time.
