How to Beat Winter Break Boredom

Winter break is a fun time for kids – especially with all the gift exchanging and new toys to play with from the holidays! But sometimes children need a little extra entertainment; here are some activities to keep the holidays jolly!

Indoor activities:

  1. Build a fun obstacle course in your living room with forts, tunnels and climbing.

  2. Help inspire creativity by writing a story. They can even add illustrations for some extra fun.

  3. Make some fun winter-themed crafts,  like snowflakes or ornaments.

  4. Break out the board games! For an extra challenge, try teaching them to play chess or checkers.

  5. Get artsy with some painting or clay building. 

  6. Put together a holiday themed puzzle.

  7. Practice math skills with some flashcards or games.

  8. Help your children write thank you cards for the presents they’ve received over the holidays.

Outdoor activities:

  1. Hit the slopes and try sledding on a small hill.

  2. Make snow angels in the yard or at a park. 

  3. Try ice skating and treat them to some hot coco.

  4. Build a snowman or snow family.

  5. Make an igloo or a snow fort.

  6. Have a snowball fight.

  7. Take a trip to look at the holiday lights around your neighborhood or town.
