How Soon After Recovering From COVID Can I Get The COVID Vaccine?

How long after having COVID does a person have to wait to get a shot? Joe Gastaldo, MD System Medical Director for Infectious Diseases at OhioHealth weighs in.

A common question he receives is, “Dr. Gastaldo, I had COVID. When can I get my vaccine or my booster?” The CDC addressed this. The official response is as long as the person is out of isolation – meaning they are no longer contagious – and they are subjectively feeling better, they are good to go get a COVID-19 shot or a booster.
