If I Need a COVID-19 Booster Shot, Can I Mix and Match my Vaccine Maker?

These days, there is a lot of talk around COVID-19 vaccine booster shots. Joe Gastaldo, MD, System Medical Director of Infectious Diseases at OhioHealth tells us there is research being done on the different vaccines and how they match up. These are mix and match vaccine studies, where for example, researchers give a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine followed by one of the mRNA vaccines. At the moment, it’s not recommended to mix and match vaccine types.
