We are all familiar with the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) and the adenovirus vector vaccine from Johnson & Johnson. The Novavax vaccine is more of a traditional vaccine. It consists of a protein along with an immune adjuvant or an immune booster.
The Novavax COVID-19 vaccine is very similar to the newer generation shingles vaccine and hepatitis B vaccine.
