Who Should Get A Fourth Vaccine Dose?

Joe Gastaldo, MD, System Medical Director for Infectious Diseases explains who should get a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

At this point in time, there are roughly seven to ten million people in our country who qualify for a fourth dose of an mRNA vaccine. This includes those who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.

That category includes: transplant patients, cancer patients receiving active chemotherapy, people on immunosuppressant medications like Remicade, and individuals born with immunodeficiency states.

Those are the individuals who are able to receive a fourth dose of vaccine.
