Will We Need COVID-19 Vaccine Shots?

Recently, the CDC Vaccine Advisory Committee met and discussed boosters. However, Joe Gastaldo, MD, System Medical Director of Infectious Diseases at OhioHealth tells us at this point in time, there is not enough information on whether boosters will be needed. Dr. Gastaldo says the CDC will have official guidance on that towards the end of 2021. But at this point in time, it’s too early to know. If anything, Dr. Gastaldo thinks the recommendation will be to only give boosters to those with weakened immune systems or those above a specific age, like senior citizens.
