What Does Up To Date On Your Vaccination Mean?

Joe Gastaldo, MD, System Medical Director for Infectious Diseases explains how many boosters are needed for someone to be considered up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination.

Now that we have the availability of a second booster, a common question is, “What does it mean to be up to date with your vaccines?”

The CDC is clear that being up to date on your vaccine at this time means receiving one booster. So, even though we have the recommendation for a second booster right now, receiving the second booster is not required for somebody to be up to date with COVID vaccines.
